Imphal, June 12: Terming it as unfortunate, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has expressed serious concern over the obstruction caused on the developmental activities by some UG groups which have signed the Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government in blatant violation of the laid down ground rules.

Addressing the Block Congress Workers' Conferences organised separately by Sadar Hills District Congress Committee as well as by Khundrakpam Block Congress Committee and Youth Congress Committee at Sapermeina CC Hall and Sagolmang Ereima Lai Lampak respectively today, Ibobi observed that even if signing of SoO with some UG groups is in the right direction toward restoration of peace and normalcy in this strife-torn State, undue interference in the developmental activities of the Government by the same UG groups in violation of the laid down ground rules is really unfortunate.

Frequent clashes and factional killings among the various UG groups is also worrisome for the welfare of the State, the Chief Minister said, while appealing to all the armed groups to come to the negotiating table for which the door is widely open by the Government.
