Imphal, December 31: In yet another case of gun fight among UG groups, two UG cadres have been killed last night.

The shoot-out took place near Kakching Khunou bridge under Waikhong police station at about 10.30 pm yesterday.

The two deceased are suspected to be Ningthoujam Imocha (37) s/o Birmangol Leikai and Ningthoujam Chaoba alias Thengra (37) s/o Yaima of Nongmaikhong Mayai.

As the identities of the two cannot be officially confirmed yet, the corpses have been deposited at RIMS mortuary.

Fired at: Some unidentified persons shot several rounds at the residence of one Md Latif (44) at Moijing Leingoiching Mina Bazar at about 9.30 pm yesterday.

Except for puncturing a Gypsy tyre, the firing caused no major damage or casualty.

Hoax bomb: A suspicious looking article found at a spot between Sora and Loushipat in Thoubal district yesterday turned out to be a hoax bomb even as it was earlier feared to be a real bomb.

When explosive experts of Manipur police went to the spot today, the article was found to be a hoax bomb made of two portruding wires.

Commits suicide : One Mahesh Kumar (40) of Uripok Sinam Leikai reportedly committed suicide this morning.

According to reports, Mahesh jumped down from the upper floor of a building.

It is said that Mahesh was a psychiatric patient.

On the request of the family, police have not registered a case on the incident.

MR man killed : A Havildar in 7th Manipur Rifles was killed in a road mishap at Kakwa at about 1.40 pm today.

The Havildar identified as Md Nazir Ahmad of Yairipok Singa died after he was rammed by a truck.
