IM mobilises Ao on Lim issue

Imphal, May 25 2010: With the stated objective of furthering the cause and demand for a Grater Nagaland, the Chief Administrative Officer, Ao region of the NSCN (IM) , Mokukchung convened a public meeting today at Makokchung Town Hall, where a number of resolutions were adopted.

Apart from Mr Q Tuccu, convenor of the Steering Committtee of the outfit and Maj Gen Phungthing Shimrang, who is also the Convenor of the Monitoring Cell, a number of the Ao civil society organisations including the Ao Senden, Concerned Senior Citizens Forum, Concerned Citizens Forum, Makokchung, AKM etc took part in the public meeting , said a statement issued by the Moderator and Recorder, Member, CSCF.

After deliberating on a series of issues, the outcome of the meeting were recorded in the form of recommendations/findings for the authorities concerned to take up, said the statement.

The recommendations made after the public meeting included, reiterating the previous stand of Naga sovereignty and Naga integration to which the AOs will extend full support; the Aos will continue to support the ongoing peace process and political dialogue in whatever way they can according to the demands of the situation; the meeting suggested the authorities concerned to ensure a congenial environment to enable us to hold Naga independence and Republic Day celebration every year in the district; the meeting strongly suggested the urgent need to conduct political awareness seminars, dialogue from time to time in the entire Naga areas in general and Ao region in particular.

It was also decided to suggest that special fasting and prayer programme in Ao area for early Indo-Naga led settlement, led by ABAM be organised.
