Imphal, May 14 2010: The Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has joined the bandwagon opposing NSCN (IM) General Secretary Thuingaleng Muivah's proposed visit to Manipur.

A press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary Standson cautioned that Muivah's homecoming would bring no peace but misunderstanding conflict between different communities of Manipur.

It called upon all communities, social organisations and leaders to join hands and oppose Muivah's plan in unison.

With NSCN (IM) no longer enjoying confidence of the people, creating communal tension in order to win back people's confidence is the sole agenda of the group, the MNRF alleged.

It also accused the NSCN (IM) of sparking communal clashes between Nagas and Kukis and Kukis and Paites in Churachandpur district.

At this juncture, any decision to welcome Muivah in Manipur would be wrong as it can result in conflicts between different communities of Manipur.

The outfit also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved families of the two students killed in Mao Gate incident.

It further appealed to all community leaders not to spread rumours but stand united to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur.
