Meet resolves to welcome Muivah

Imphal, May 25 2010: A public meeting held today at the community hall of United Baptist Church (Liangmei) at Tamenglong district Hqs under the aegis of the Committee on Political Affairs (COPA) Tamenglong has resolve to invite and welcome NSCN (IM) General Secretary Th Muivah to Tamenglong district.

Reports received from Tamenglong district Hqs said that the meeting was also attended by MP Mani Charenamei and MLAs Awangbow Newmai, Dr Khasim Ruivah, Soso Lorho and Benjamin Banee.

It also hailed the seven Naga MLAs who tendered their resignation recently against the State Cabinet decision to ban entry of Muivah to Manipur and to go ahead with the ADC elections.

Traditional Naga shawls were also presented to Awangbou Newmai and Dr Khasim Ruivah.

The meeting resolved to launch posture/slogan and other appropriate campaigns in support of the ongoing Indo-Naga peace process as well as to form a 'chain prayer group' to continuously pray for final settlement of the Indo-Naga issue under the aegis of the Zeliangrong Baptist Church Council, North East India.

While denouncing the present form and content of the Manipur (Hill Areas( District Council Act 2008, it decided to abstain from the scheduled ADC elections.
