Imphal, May 20, 2010: Coming out strongly against the alleged indifference of the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati district, Nidhi Kesherwani,- especially after the May 6 incident, the Naga Youth Front (NYF) has today stated that it would intensify its movement against the Ibobi led Government.

Any unwanted situation arising out of the course of the agitation should be solely borne by the SPF Government as well as the DC of Senapati, said the NYF in a statement issued to the press today.

Questioning the prolonged silence of the administration despite the suffering faced by the people since the May 6 incident, including the displaced villagers, NYF has raised some points demanding satisfactory answers.

Coming straight to the point, NYF asked, why is the genuine demand of the people to immediately withdraw the Manipur police commandos/IRBs from the district ignored and reduced to just some paper work.

The NYF also questioned why the DC is yet to visit the spot and supervise the prevailing situation at Mao gate, especially the fate of the numerous displaced persons.

Instead of focusing on the welfare, safety and suffering of the people, the DC is more keen on arranging the deployment of more security forces and giving safe passage to the brutal State forces, alleged NYF.

The Youth Front further questioned what the DC as done to control the situation in the district and raised another poser as to why the DC is turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the State forces at Mao gate raised should he forthcoming on or before May 25, said NYF and warned that in case of failure, it will be constrained to launch a series of stir against the officer.
