Imphal, May 27: In protest against frequent incidents of killing captured/arrested activists of armed organisation, random firing, bomb explosion and absence of sense of security, a sit-in-protest followed by a condemnation rally was organised at Langol Tarung Public Ground yesterday, said Ruangmei Lu Pham (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland).

Pointing to the May 24 shooting incident near the residential area, the Langol Tarung-based body on behalf of numerous organisations contended that the victim was brought and killed along the Tarung road by police commandos.

Many speakers addressing the gathering during the agitation strongly condemned alleged extra-judicial activities of the commandos, the release informed and added that highlighting such unwanted incidents in the vicinity of Langol Tarung village a memorandum had also been submitted to the Governor Dr SS Sidhu for his personal intervention and immediate redressal measures.
