Jiribam, August 27: Condemning last night's attack by suspected PREPAK cadres on the headquarters of the 4/8 GR Bn located inside the ITI complex at Ningthoukhong Patpat under Bishnupur Police Station causing fear and panic among the people, a Wakat Meepham was staged at Ningthoukhong Bazar today appealing to all concerned to refrain from such attacks in the future.

Organised jointly by fisher farmers of Ningthoukhong Ward No.9 and 10 and local Meira Paibis, the protest demonstration was held from 10 am to 5 pm.

Placards with slogans like ' Stop bomb and firing attack in public places', 'Allow the people to live in peace', etc were used during the protest demonstration.

Mean-while, one villager who was hit by bomb splinters in last night's attack has been reportedly hospitalised at the Leimakhong Army Hospital.

The injured has been identified as Oinam Marjit alias Khokho (45) s/o late Oinam Shakthi of Ningthoukhong Ward No.10 .
