Imphal, July 20: While taking grim note of escalation of violence in the state and citing inefficiency of State machineries leading to the common citizens feeling insecure, the Working Committee of the Apunba Lup strongly condemned recent cases of children being kidnapped.

Highlighting that the general public had been bearing the brunt of atrocities being perpetrated by security forces under the pretext of containing insurgency and alleging that innocent civilians are being slain by branding them as armed activists, the Lup called upon those involved in the kidnapping of children to immediately cease such inhumane acts.
