Imphal, June 02: Protesting against the killing of Pukhrambam Inao (31) s/o late Tombi of Pukhrambam Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur district by a combined force of 32 Assam Rifles and 12 Maratha Light Infantry at Narangkhunjil Takhellambam in Imphal East on the night of May 31, a Wakat Meepham was staged at Nambol Bazar today.

The protestors contended that Inao was an innocent person and warned of taking recourse to various intense agitation until the guilty security personnel have been pulled up and punishment.

After the protest demonstration, the protestors submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this connection.

At the intervention of the local MLA and Minister N Loken, a joint meeting along with the Chief Minister is likely to be held tomorrow to discuss the matter.
