NSCM(IM)-IRB clash in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 25: In a move that can damage the ongoing peace process between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM, there occurred a shoot-out between cadres of the NSCN-IM and the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) personnel this evening at Dimapur killing one security personnel.

Reports said that an NSCN-IM meeting was in progress at Diphupar area in Dimapur when the shooting incident occurred.

The identity of the deceased security force personnel is yet to be established officially.

The NSCN-IM tonight informed Newmai News Network that a meeting of the outfit was going on when the personnel of the IRB came across the place and started ambushing cadres of the NSCN-IM.

In quick reaction, the NSCN-IM cadres retaliated and killed one IRB personnel, according to the NSCN-IM.

The outfit also informed that a weapon of the IRB is missing after the incident.

till the filing of this story it is reported that the stand-off between the IRB personnel and the NSCN-IM cadres was still on.

Meanwhile, the NSCN (IM) insisted that they had already conveyed authorities of security forces regarding the outfit's meeting at the place where the incident took place but to no avail as the IRB personnel intentionally opened fire upon the IM cadres.
