If Muivah enters, he will be arrested: Ph Parijat

Imphal, May 02 2010: General secretary of NSNC(IM) will be arrested if he enters Manipur territory, said state health and family and labour minister, Ph Parijat expressing that his visit closely related with political motive in the backdrop of ADC election and Naga integration.

Minister, Parijat speaking at the May Day function organised by the All India Trade Union at Major Community Hall on Saturday talked elaborately on the reason behind government decision not to allow Muivah entry in the state.

He said, Muivah's visit in not a simple homecoming to join his family and relative but have a political motive behind it, government considered.

His scheduled visit is coincided with the date of issue of notifications for the second phase election.

On the same day, a public meeting is also planning at Ukhrul district headquarters which he would most likely to urge the people to stand against the holding of election.

He is coming to the state is closely related with breaking of ADC election and state integrity, Parijat said adding that if he attempted to enter the state by force against the objection, he will be arrested.

Government is stand for the integrity of the state.

Territorial integrity of the state cannot be altered at any cost, he reaffirmed.

Talking on the ongoing cease-work strike of the employees, he said, the fund amounting to Rs 494 crore which would be allocated by the centre for the current financial year is yet to pass in the Parliament.

The fund for payment of salaries of the employees is not yet release.

Employees should give government some time, he observed.

He also appealed the underground organisation behind the issue of quit notice to the Non-Manipuris to review the decision once again and withdraw it.

Apart from the state health and family welfare minister, the May Day observation function was presided over by the president of the All India Trade Union Congress, state unit, Dr M Nara.

Secretary of CPI Manipur state council, L Iboyaima and general secretary of National Federation of Street Venders were guests of honour of the function.
