Imphal, January 04: The proscribed outfit UNLF has clarified that it was not involved in the killing of KRA chairman Khuplam Hangshing as alleged in a PTI news item datelined New Delhi January 3 under the caption 'Monetary dispute led to Kuki leader's murder in Delhi'.

In a statement, senior publicity officer of UNLF Ksh Yoiheiba said the story which could have been churned out by Indian intelligence agencies is completely false and baseless and intended to create misunderstanding and friction between KRA and UNLF.

Yoiheiba further clarified that Cpl W Luwangamba, who reportedly committed the murder, is a deserter of UNLF for more than three years now.

Since then he has been active in a gang involved in several cases of extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
