Imphal, December 21: In twin attacks on engineers today an Executive Engineer of the IFCD identified as Soubam Dhanabir of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai was shot on both legs by some unidentified persons at about 7.20 this morning while a hand grenade was hurled at the Chingamakha residence of Minor Irrigation Department Executive Engineer Gourakishore at about 7.40 am today.

Dhanabir is undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital, Langol.

On the other hand, protesting against the act of planting a bomb at the residence of Minor Irrigation Thoubal Division EE Laishram Madhop yesterday afternoon, the local Meira Paibis staged a protest at Porompat today.
