Outer Manipur PC elections not fair: NPP

Imphal, May 18: In an executive meeting of Naga National Party (NNP) held today at its office premises deliberated on the post election Scenario and future course of action.

The NNP reaffirmed that the just concluded 14th Lok Sabha Election in Manipur was not free and fair.

The NPP consider it �exceptional� in the election history of II-outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary Constituency.

This election have created maximum confusion and disunity among the peoples, specially among the Naga brethrens which may take time to heal said a press statement issued by Ng Hungyo, President of the NNP wanted and expected the election to be free and fair and a meaningful one so that ore unity is built up amongst the Nagas in particular and all communities in general.

In contrary this election has brought more disunity among the Nagas in Manipur.

The NNP appeal to all groups of people, specially the Naga communities to forgive and forget all the ugly incidents which occurred during the election.

The nature of confrontation will not serve any purpose for the ongoing peace process between GOI and NSCN (IM).

The NNP will consider as our representative whoever wins the election and will expect to work together for the betterment of our society, irrespective of caste and creed it added.

The NNP also mooted the desire of forming political wings of the Naga Apex bodies vis-�-vis youth, women student wings etc so that all the apex Organization of the Naga society can work more cohesively for all common causes of the society in order to achieve the desire of the people for a peaceful and negotiated solution.
