Boxing: Rousing welcome for Sarjubala in Imphal

Imphal, May 02 2015 : Shamjetsabam Sarjubala who won goal in the 22nd President's Cup Open International Tournament at Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia in 48 kg division by out punching Iseva Joya of Russia on April 24 was given a rousing welcome by the sports lovers of Manipur on Saturday.

Upon her arrival at Imphal International Airport, members from boxing fraternity and sports lovers of Manipur welcome her with garlands.

Later, she was taken around Imphal over on an open jeep on the way to Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leirak.

All along the route people came out in larger numbers to welcome champion.

Shamjetsabam Sarjubala given a rousing welcome in Imphal

Shemgat Marup, Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leirak organized a reception programme at the community hall of Wangkhei Pukhrambam Leirak.

It may be recalled that Shamjetsabam Sarjubala is the latest young sensation in the boxing circuit in India with 19 golds to her credit since she started out in 2005.She is also considered as one of potential winners for Rio Olympic 2016 .
