Aid extended to ASHA workers

Imphal, June 26 2021: Kshetrigao AC intending candidate Lamyan-ba Ipu (Khumanthem Lakshmikumar) on Saturday distributed edibles and extended monetary assistance to 30 ASHA workers attached to Naharup Makhapat Khongjil Primary Health Centre, Kongba Primary Health Centre and Thambalkhong Primary Health Centre.

Speaking on the sidelines, Ipu lauded the contributions, sacrifices and selfless service of health care workers including ASHAs during the current pandemic, while adding that he will continue to extend assistance wherever possible.

Lamyanba Ipu also visited several problematic paddy fields in Kshetrigao AC on Saturday.

During one such visit to Khongji Loukol in Irilbung Kalika, he assured of taking up steps to ensure regular supply of water in the area.

One of the farmers from the area conveyed to The People's Chronicle that Khongji Loukol has been having difficulty in producing good yield for a long time.

The 250-acre land is completely inundated during heavy rains, while it remains barren during the dry season.

As such, the farmer appreciated Lamyanba Ipu for assuring of providing water pumps and pipes to divert the waters of Iril river for irrigation purposes.
