Imphal, February 19 2019: A large amount of money were reportedly collected from many aspiring candidates by some miscreants who used fake advertisements for recruitment to vacantposts in Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.

On the other hand, the Director of the Department has assured the necessary and appropriate legal actions will be taken up against the miscreant involved in the case.

Speaking to media persons at the Department's office at Sanjenthong today, its Director Haobijam Chaoba said that there have been reports that some individuals have been collecting money to the tune of Rs 5 to 10 lakh from aspiring candidates and people from Chandel, Bishnupur and other places, promising to recruit them for various vacant posts in the Department.

He the clarified that the Department has not made any official notification nor advertisements for appointment to any posts in the Department and added that if the Department does decide to recruit candidates for some posts, the recruitment will be done properly by issuing a notification and recruiting through the exchange.

Proper advertisements will also be done through print and electronic media, he explained.

Condemning the act of duping and cheating the gullible candidates and aspiring people by some miscreants and also tarnishing the reputation of the Department in the process, Director Haobijam Chaoba said that these people involved in the scam will not be spared and proper legal actions will be taken up against them.

On the other hand, the Department Director continued that concerning the report of an outbreak of some kind of ailments affecting the tongues and feet of livestock at Borobekra, Jiribam, a team from the Department have already been deployed at the area and are conducting necessary treatment procedures like vaccination in the surrounding areas.

He explained that the cattle are being affected on their mouths and the disease makes the cattle shun away food.

He continued that a team of Department doctors also left for the place today itself and they will cover three areas of Borobekra.

If the disease affects young calf, death may also occur but the disease is not fatal for those cows which have reached maturity, he explained adding that the cows affected by the disease often becomes thin and their milk supply drops considerably.

The Director then advised all to properly vaccinate their livestock and cattle at the right time and appealed to all to cooperate with, the Department in its drive to cure the ailment that is affecting the cattle in the area.

He explained that cows should be vaccinated twice in a year and appealed all to take proper precautionary measure for their livestock before its too late.
