Health Minister inaugurates

Health Minister L Jayantakumar inaugurates three health care units including the State's first Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Churachandpur District Hospital today.
The Minister accompanied by Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian inaugurated 4 bedded Coronary Care Unit (CCU), a 6 bedded High Dependency Unit (HDU) and 8 bedded Palliative Wards at around 9.30 am.
The hospital authority, while lauding the Government's effort to improve the health services in the area, briefed the Minister regarding the grievances owing to shortage of staff in the hospital which is likely to worsen with the inauguration of the three units today.
The staff also called on the Minister to ensure a dust free environment in the hospital and renovate some section which are likely to worsen the health of the patients.
Addressing the event, L Jayantakumar promised to lay tarmac on the hospital campus to ensure a dust free campus.
The minister also claimed that preparation to establish Medical College in the Churachandpur District Hospital are also in the right track and in final stages.
Dr K Rajo Singh, Director, Health Services, Dr Manikanta, State Missions Director along with the local administration and officials of the health department attended the event among others.
