Imphal, December 31 2020: Sheihek Sheireng Sheipan Shemgat Lup (SHEIPAL) distributed various awards today at a programme held at Manipur Press Club.

Lifetime Achievement award was given to distinguished lyricists of the State Rajamani Nongthongbam while Jatishore Tongbram won the Dr Mayengbam Kamala Sheirol Mana, 2020 donated by Dr Mayengbam Kamala.

Both the awards were presented to the recipients by AK Mirabai, MLA of Patsoi AC.

Speaking on the programme, MLA AK Mirabai said women play an important role in the formation of a well established society.

She added that it is high time the literary works of our forefather are preserved for the future generations.

Recipients of various awards including Ksh Subadani Devi, (Pacha Meetei Literary Award); Dr K Shantibala Devi (Chingkhu Moirangleima Ningshing Kabirdas Mana), and Rakesh Naorem (Humanitarian Excellence Award) were also felicitated by SHEIPAL.

The programme was also attended by Dr Athokpam Kholchandra, president SHEIPAL; TM Rajen Ayangba, National and international awardee; Ningombam (O) Ranibala Leima, proprietor M/s Purnima Enterprise and Nongmaithem Shanta Singh, social worker as presidium members.

A collection of lyrics edited by Rakesh Naorem titled 'Nungshi Sheirol' was also released by MLA AK Mirabai at the programme.
