SDO Kangpokpi briefs IQCs inmates on SOPs

Kangpokpi, June 10 2020: Considering the disquieting situation in some Institutional Quarantine Centres (IQC) the Sub Divisional Officer of Kangpokpi visited all the IQCs under his jurisdiction today and briefed the inmates on the strict SOPs of IQCs.

SDO Kangpokpi Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS was accompanied by Addl SP (Ops) Lalminlen Misao, MPS, Officer-in-charge of Kangpokpi Police Station Inspector Khogen and local senior journalist Kaybie Chongloi while visiting the IQCs.

Currently, there are 18 Institutional Quarantine Centres under Kangpokpi sub-division with more than 700 inmates and has six active cases who are from Goma Devi High School, Toribari Institutional Quarantine Centres.

The team visited the Institutional Quarantine Centres at Hengbung, T Khullen, Daili village, Yaikongpao and Tumnoupokpi.

While maintaining social distancing protocol, SDO Chunglenmang Kipgen briefed the inmates about the strict SOPs to followed by them during their period in their respective IQCs while also creating awareness on various issues and challenges faced by the Government, District Administrations, police, health workers and other frontline workers.

He also briefed them on how the communities have been taking huge responsibilities for their well being by taking care of their food, praying for their health and safety as well as security.

He expressed concern for the health and safety of the inmates and said that they are working beyond their assigned duties to ensure the inmates a calm and happy stay in the centres and requested them to adjust with minor shortcomings.

The SDO also motivated them to maintain discipline and promote hygienic ways of living in the quarantine centre.

Addl SP (Ops) Lalminlen Misao and OC Kangpokpi Inspector Khogen also briefed the inmates about the law and order situation owing to the pandemic and actions which can be taken up against those breaching the IQCs guidelines.

Restriction of taking photographs and videos and uploading in social media, dancing and mingling inside the quarantine centres were also briefed by the team.

The inmates also informed the officials of the daily donations they are raising, which is to be handed over after the completion of their surveillance period, to the villagers as a 'return gift' for the concern and love shown to them during their stay at the centre.
