Agitated student activists today ransacked a shop in Nagamapal which was found hoarding goods and selling them at steep price to the people taking advantage of the present economic blockade on the National Highways.
As usual, student activists of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) carried out a drive in the shops located along the road of Nagamapal and Kasturi bridge today.
During the course of the drive in a shop owned by one Deepak Gupta of Bihar at Nagamapal, the salesmen claimed that there is no goods in the stock of the shop.

When the student activists demanded to know why the goods are being hoarded and are sold at hiked prices when the people are experiencing shortage of foods owing to prolonged imposition of economic blockade along the National Highways, the salesmen maintained that the goods were meant for shipping to Moirang.
When demanded to meet the owner of the shop, the student activists were told that the owners have already fled.
Infuriated at the conduct of the shop keeper, the agitated student activists ransacked the shop.
Around 50 student activists of AMSU who participated in the drive have been reportedly arrested by City police.
