Following inputs from Ministerial colleagues and officials that housing the office complex of the Assembly Secretariat, High Court and Civil Secretariat inside the Capitol Complex would be too congested, Chief Minister O Ibobi has instructed the Revenue Commissioner to look for another site for constructing one of the buildings to ease congestion inside the Capitol Complex.
The instruction was issued after a thorough discussion on the matter during a high level meeting held at the Chief Minister's office yesterday afternoon.
The meeting which was presided by the Chief Minister was also attended by Works Minister Th Devendra, MAHUD Minister L Nandakumar, PDA Chairman K Ranjit, Imphal Municipal Council chairperson Moirangjao Kabui, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary Works, Chief Engineer PWD, Commissioner Revenue, Commissioner MAHUD, Health Director and Chief Town Planner.
The Chief Minister while issuing directives to the Ministers as well as the officials concerned to begin me construction works of the Capitol Project before the onset of Monsoon also urged the officials to speed up the construction works of the Bir Tikendrajit Flyover so as to complete the construction within the month of June.
Directives were also issued by the Chief Minister to allow the women vendors of Nupi Keithel to shift to the newly constructed temporary shed at Dist Hospital after Cheiraoba and begin the much needed soil testing for construction of the proposed Nupi Keithel complex at the old site.
It may be noted here that the construction works of the new Nupi Keithel Complex is to be taken up by the NBCC.
Commenting on the proposed construction of a 100 bedded hospital at Thoubal Dist, the Chief Minister informed that the Centre has already sanctioned the requisite fund for constructing the same.
The State Govt had already submitted a drawing of the proposed hospital.
Members present at the meeting also thoroughly discussed the eviction works that would be needed to widen the BT road after the completion of the Bir Tikendrajit Flyover.
The required width of BT Road after completion of the flyover is supposed to be between 110 and 120 ft.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh has also called a meeting of high ranking officials tomorrow to chalk out plans for taking up the Capitol Project's works within the shortest possible time.
