Al-Ameen and RCA registered easy wins in Tuesday's fixtures of the 1st MCNA Mens U23 Tournament 2023-24.Al-Ameen thrashed MODEL by 5 wickets in their league match played at Model Hr.
Secondary & Oriental College Ground, Imphal.
The Lilong side unleashed a lethal bowling attack to bundle out their opponents for a meagre 81 in 32.3 overs.
MODEL got off to a horrible start when their opener Thoudam Deepak Singh (1) and Ronald Ningombam (6) fell in 13 deliveries, and they never recovered, with more batters falling at regular intervals.
Irungbam Tonton, who batted at number three, managed to knock an unbeaten 32 off 82 balls, but his efforts were insignificant in their miserable innings.
Md Karim, who grabbed 2 wickets, removed opener Thoudam Deepak for 1 in 3 balls while Khulakpam Hanif dismissed Ronald Ningombam for 6, before FM Sakil Ahamed inflicted a major damage on the MODEL'S middle order, claiming 3 scalps.
Mohd Sagir Ahamed, Md Ziour Rahman and Naeem NA7 also picked up one wicket apiece for Al-Ameen.
In their response, Nawaz hit an unbeaten 62 to help Al-Ameen finish off the chase in 18.5 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
Boboicha Singh Thokchom (6), Md Sharoz Khan (4), Mahboob (2 not out), Naeem NA7 (1) and Md Karim (1) were other run-getters in their win.
For MODEL, Biyon Naorem and Dibak Naorem both took 2 wickets while Suson Yanglem Singh got one.
Imran Khan shone with the bat as RCA pummelled KSDO by 190 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.
Imran produced a near-faultless performance, churning out an unbeaten 102, to help RCA post a respectable 259/7 after 40 overs.
Syed Hussain also contributed significantly with 42 as Md Danish Khan did his bit with 41, followed by Naesh Hussain (20) and Md Alfash (7).RCA then bowled well to skittle out KSDO in 18.5 overs for 69 for their emphatic victory.
Md Danish Khan led the scalping with 3 wickets while Aziz Mirza and Naesh Hussain each snapped 2, with Iliyas and Harvind Naidu taking one apiece.
Only Md Akhtar Rahman (12) reached double digits in KSDO's forgettable run chase.
