Superplate: PTCC claim fifth straight win

Imphal, April 17 2023: PTCC secured their fifth straight win with a four-wicket drubbing of FORCE in their MNCA Superplate Tournament Group A match played at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East on Monday.

Sohail Akram shone with the ball as PTCC skittled out FORCE in 24.5 overs for 112 .

The PTCCC pacer scalped five wickets in his 7.5 overs as Dominic Moirangthem snapped two wickets and Naorem Victor took one to lay the foundation for their team's victory.

FORCE'S innings saw Saddam Ahmed Shah (45), Md Sarif Alam (16), Naeem Ahamad (16) and Tashib Alam (12) get into double figures.

After their brilliant bowling performance, PTCC took 17.2 overs to eclipse the opposition's total, losing six wickets in the process.

In their run chase, Dominic Moirangthem was unbeaten on 35, Paonam Champion made 23, Andyroshan Mandingbam contributed 16 and Sohail Akram scored 10 (not out).

Other run-getters for PTCC were G Gomi Sharma (7), Mangshatabam Veekash (7) and Hijam Hemachandra (4).Tashib Alam claimed four wickets and Khushru Pravez bagged two to be on the losing side.

Sohail Akram was given the man of the match trophy for his five-wicket haul and unbeaten 10 off 7 balls.

The win helped PTCC reclaim the top spot in the Group A table with 10 points from their five matches.

KSDO are two points behind leaders PTCC.
