Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, January 13 2023: The MNCA Plate Tournament on Friday saw AKSDO (Khangabok) and NCA (Ningthoukhong) record comprehensive wins.

AKSDO pummelled YAC (Yaiskul) by 138 runs in their Group A meeting at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

The Khangabok side opted to bat first, played 40 overs and set a mammoth 241-run target for the Yaiskul squad.

They lost five wickets in the process.

Khamba Khundongbam took centre stage smashing 80 off 76 balls while Bishorjit Mangang (38), Laishram Samson (31) and Winchelly Laishram (29) made decent scores to help AKSDO set a gigantic task for their opponents.

Then AKSDO followed up with a brilliant bowling display that wiped out YWC for 102 in 26 overs for their emphatic triumph.

Saikhom Kaiku led the attack with an impressive haul of four wickets as Akash Laishram and Rohit Liashram claimed two scalps each, with Liashram Nirash and Rosan Laishram accounting for one wicket each.

Salam Raju (25), Krish-nananda Khwairakpam (19) and Joychandra Ngangom (13) proved to be the only batters who could score in double digits in YAC's run chase.

Earlier, Joychandra Ngangom took two wickets while Dhaneshwor Laishram and Huidrom Guneshwor bagged one each for YAC.

Khamba Khundongbam walked away with the man of the match award for his 80 runs.

At Oriental Ground, NCA continued their unbeaten form in Group B with a 55-run win over SSU (Singjamei Kakwa).

With the result, NCA extended their lead in their group standings with 8 points from four matches.

Electing to bat, NCA got dismissed for 188 in 32 overs as Angom Robinhood (51), N Sidarth (49) and Moirangthem Karamachand (31) made notable contributions in their innings.

The Ningthoukhong team lost four wickets to Sougrakpam Douglas and two each to Dingku G and Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma.

In reply, SSU were all out for 133, falling way short of their target.

Chorjeet Rk bowled well to claim four wickets and Angom Robinhood impressed with three scalps, with Sushil Moirangthem and L Sad-ananda chipping with one wicket apiece for NCA's fourth straight win.

Angom Robinhood (51 runs & 4 wickets) was adjudged the man of the match.
