CYLC defeat ESU in State Junior Basketball C'ship opener

Imphal, August 03 2025: The 38th State Sub-Junior and 15th Junior Basketball Championship for Boys and Girls, 2025, tipped off in thrilling fashion at Nahabam on Sunday, as CYLC clinched a hard-fought 52-32 victory over ESU in the opening junior boys' fixture.

Despite a slow start, CYLC gradually found their rhythm and dominated the game's tempo through strong defensive coordination and clinical finishing.

ESU struggled to gain momentum in the early stages, scoring only 2 points in the first quarter to CYLC's 16 .

Though they improved in the second and third quarters with 11 and 10 points respectively, CYLC maintained control, leading 25-13 at halftime.

By the end of the third quarter, CYLC held a commanding 44-23 lead.

Although ESU managed to reduce the deficit slightly in the final quarter, the comeback proved insufficient against CYLC's steady performance.
