Weightlifting: Anjali, Roshilata bag bronze medals for Manipur

Imphal, January 03 2023: Kh Anjali Devi and K Roshilata Devi bagged two bronze medals for Manipur on Day 8 of the IWLF Youth Junior & Senior National Weightlifting Championships 2022-23 at Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu; Kh Anjali settled for the bronze in the junior women's 64kg category on Tuesday.

She lifted a total of 179kg (snatch-79kg, clean & jerk-100kg) for her podium finish.

Bhawna of Haryana won the gold, medal courtesy of her total lift of 192 (snatch-85kg, clean & jerk-107kg) while Ditimoni Sonowal of Assam came off second best with 187kg (snatch-81kg, clean & jerk-106kg) .

K Roshilata, on the other hand, claimed her bronze medal in the senior women's 64kg event after her effort of 197kg overall (snatch-83kg, clean & jerk-114kg) .

S Nirupama Devi of RSPB clinched the top honour with a total lift of 206kg (snatch-88kg, clean & jerk-118kg) as Andhra Pradesh's S Pallavi (202kg-snatch -90kg, clean & jerk-112kg) secured the silver medal.

The IWLF Youth Junior & Senior National Weightlifting Championships will run till January 7 .
