Big wins for UVSA, VSAI in Sangai Trophy

Imphal, June 01 2022: Both UVSA and VSAI enjoyed an easy day in the 4th Sangai Trophy Veterans' Football Championship 2022 on Wednesday.

UVSA romped to a 6-1 win over AMBA in the day's first match.

Ch Thoiba kick-started the rout with a 9th-minute opener, Kh Manaoba made it 2 0 in the 28th minute, Sh Samarendra tripled the lead in the 37th minute and Th Noren found the fourth goal in the 45th minute before M Sanjitkumar pulled a goal back for AMBA in the 51st minute.

After conceding a goal, UYSA got their momentum back with a double from Th Sachikanta (56', 66') and closed out the game in style.

VSAI, on the other hand, scored five goals without re ply against MUSA in another one-sided affair.

N Utam opened the scoring in the 13th minute and N Rajesh doubled the lead in the 46th minute before N Utam found his second and team's third goal in the 48th minute.

Then S Robichandra netted their fourth goal and Ch Ananda wrapped up the victory with an injury-time goal.
