Sagolband United on Wednesday outclassed a hapless Nagaland Police 3-1 in the final match of the 1st Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Trophy Football Tournament organised by Lamding Football Association under the aegis of AIFF at the Vivekananda Railway Stadium, Lumding, Nagaon District, Assam.
Sagolband United started strongly and put the pressure on their rival team.
However, their efforts could not bring success.

The match's account was opened by Nagaland Police when a penalty shoot was converted into a goal in the 17th minute.
The first half of the tournament went in favour of the Khakhi boys from Nagaland leading 1-0 .
When the second half started, Nagaland Police's centre defender was knocked unconscious in the 65th minute after colliding with his team goal keeper.
He was taken to the hospital immediately due to which play was stopped for a while.
On resumption, Sagolband United equalized through Chingthangkhomba in the 72nd minute and Tyson scored in the 91st minute to give a 2-1 lead.
SU's captain Somen scored again in the 94th minute to give a resounding 3-1 lead.
Maibam Tyson was adjudged the Man of Match and also got the award for best goal of the finals.
Sagolband United finally won the match 3-1 .
