Shirui Lily Half Marathon title for Nagaland's, Wede Tmero

Nagaland's Wede Tmero won the Shirui Lily Half Marathon Men's Open held in Ukhrul on May 26.The marathon, organised by T-Coleve, an event management team, was flagged off by former education minis ter Dr Th Radheshyam Singh in the presence of Tangkhul Naga Long president David K Shimray.
25-year-old Wede Tmero from Chizami village, Phek district, Nagaland completed the 22 km marathon in 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 7 seconds to claim the title.
Manipur's H Ngapulou, 22, from Liyai Khunou, Senapati district finished behind by just about a minute to secure the second place while 19-year-old Manoubi Singh from Pachim Lanka Gaon, Baluhandar Hojai, Assam settled for the third place.
10 other runners - Sahidur Rahman, George Ningkhanmung Shimray, Nahtei N Wangnou, Chihanyo Raman, Sophia Soro, Md Abdul Rajak, Tuishim Horam, Khalatza Shimray, Thotngacheirin Hunphun ILuiyi and Yurngachan Luiram were awarded consolation prizes.
The marathon drew 230 runners from across the country.
The award ceremony of the event was attended by HAC chairman and MLA Dipu Gangmei as chief guest and Ukhrul ADC/ADM Chunglen-mang Kipgen as special guest.
