K Madhushumita wins gold at South Asian Karate C'ship

Imphal, July 19 2024:
Khangembam Madhushumita Devi won gold medal for India at the 8th South Asian Karate Championship 2024 in Bhutan on Friday.
Madhushumita defeated her opponent from Nepal in the final of the -59kg junior girls' kumite event to claim her yellow metal.
Earlier in the semifinal, the state girl beat her Sri Lankan opponent.
This was Khangembam Madhushumita's first international outing.
She is accompanied by Manipur Amateur Karate Do Association general secretary Kyoshi Mutum Bankim Singh and Renshi Soibam Bindeshori Chanu (female official) .
Madhushumita is currently trained under under SAI karate coach Soibam Chandrima at SAI STC Imphal.
She is the daughter of Khangembam Chakrabarti Singh and Khangembam Bina Devi of Kumbi Khuga Wangma.
The competition concludes on Saturday, July 20, 2024 .
