MNCA Men's U-23: RULE, Al-Ameen victorious

RULE and Al-Ameen won their matches in contrasting styles in the 1st MNCA Mens U-23 Tournament on Thursday.
Sanjenbam Suresh hit a century and Rojit Singh Angomcha shone with the ball to help RULE overpower TRAU by 144 runs in their meeting at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground, here.
Electing to bat, RULE reached 223/7 as Suresh led the way with an unbeaten 107 off 115 balls.
Sunil Kumar (26), Jay Singh (20) and Rojit Singh Angomcha (15 not out) were other contributors in their innings.
For TRAU, Preethson Arubam claimed three wickets, Mutum Swabhiman took two and Subham Raut bagged one.
After setting a competitive target for their opponents, RULE unleashed a nery bowling spell to bowl out TRAU for 79 in 24.3 overs.
Rojit Angomcha turned out to be the star bowler of the day as he finished with a remarkable haul of six wickets, with Jay Singh and Indrakumar Singh Sanjenbam chipping in with one wicket apiece.
Al-Ameen, on the other hand, beat YWC by 20 runs in a low-scoring match at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Al-Ameen decided to bat and scored 150 after being dismissed in 34.2 overs.
In the innings, Md Raeesh Khan (35), Boboicha Singh Thokchom (32) and Md Karim (30) made decent contributions.
Despite their low total, Al-Ameen came up with a brilliant bowling display to stop YWC's run chase in 35.5 overs for 130 .
FM Sakil Ahamed and Nawaz bowled well to take three wickets each while Md Karim grabbed two and Md Ziour Rahman contributed one in their victory.
Earlier, Soubam Robinson Singh was the chief destroyer for YWC with five wickets, but his impressive spell went in vain.
Meanwhile, the match between PTRC and KSDO was abandoned due to rain.
