SAI ArP wrest title of karate meet

SAI STC, Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh (ArP) were crowned overall team champions of the All India Inter-SAI Karate Championship 2024 held at SAI STC, Imphal, Khuman Lampak, while host SAI STC, Imphal had to be contented with the runners up title.
On the last day of the championship on Monday, SAI ArP bagged 20 gold, nine silver and five bronze medals as SAI STC, Imphal secured 23 medals including 11 gold and seven silver, while SAI STC, Shillong, Meghalaya bagged 19 medals including five gold medals and eight silver medals for the third position and SAI STC, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh ended the championship with five gold, five silver and three bronze medals to finish fourth.
On Monday, L Ansaraj of SAI STC, Imphal won the gold medal and Subash Bagang (SAI STC, ArP) silver in the cadet boys 14-15 years (55 kg) competition; Shri Krishna (SAI STC Jabalpur, MP) bagged gold medal, Kutung Nampe (SAI STC, ArP) silver medal and Shandarson Nongrem (SAI STC, Meghalaya) bronze medal in junior boys 16-17 boys (55 kg) event; Bangram Lamnio (SAI STC, ArP) won the gold medal, Devansh Kr Sharma (SAI STC, Jabalpur, MP) silver and Albert Jyrwa (SAI STC, Meghalaya) bronze medal in senior boys +18 boys (67 kg) competition; and Kh Madhusmita (SAI STC, Imphal) secured the gold medal, Sonia Londa (SAI STC, ArP) silver medal and Daphilahun (SAI STC, Meghalaya) bronze medal in junior girls 16-17 years (59 kg) competition.
