Lanchenba clinches gold, Bishorjit takes bronze for Manipur in Jr National Aquatics

Imphal, August 03 2025: Manipur's swimming contingent made a strong start to the 51st Junior National Aquatic Championship 2025, currently underway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

On the opening day of competition, promising swimmer Laitonjam Lanchenba secured gold in the 50-metre breaststroke (male category), clocking an impressive time of 31.84 seconds.

The final was fiercely contested, with Arth Jain of Madhya Pradesh taking silver in 32.42 seconds, followed closely by Sai Swarup Swain of Odisha, who finished in 32.95 seconds.

Lanchenba's powerful performance placed him well ahead of the field.

Adding to Manipur's medal tally, Leishangthem Bishorjit delivered another commendable performance in the 50-metre backstroke, bagging the bronze medal.
