IW Khelo India : BMSC victorious in U-17 boys' football opener

Imphal West Khelo India Games for U-17 boys and girls being organised by District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Imphal West across 5 different disciplines including Football, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis and Thang-Ta kicked off today.
The football tournament of the games began today at THAU ground with 10 boys teams and 3 girls teams taking part in it.
The inaugural function of the tournament was attended by Kabrabam Gopeshwor Singh, former international footballer; Retd Col Sapam Shantikumar and Th Tomba, DYASO Imphal West as dignitaries.
The opening match of the boys football tournament organised in knock-out basis saw BMSC, Taobungkhok eliminate THAU-A, Thangmeiband by 3-1 goals.
THAU-A started the game positively with Malem N striking the opener early in the 9th minute but BMSC bounced back in the latter part and pumped in three goals to move into the next round.
Kh Pravananda netted the equaliser in the 11th minute of the match while Ph Rostam found the breakthrough in the 25th minute.
THAU-A had few chances to draw level but failed to find the targetEd their condition got worsened when Maichael scored another in the 29th minule to make it 3-1 at the end.
Children Home, Tera Keithel will play THAU-C at 8 am tomorrow while KRYPHSA FC Naoremthong will meet Renedy Football School at 9.15 am followed by Wild Entry vs SDC, Samurou in the next match at 10.30 am.
Puina CH will meet Nirvana Foundation in a girls football league match tomorrow at 1 pm.
In the kabaddi tournament staged at Lamdeng Khudou Lamsang, Imphal West Sekmai beat LYDA, Luker by 30-10 margin.
Meanwhile in the U-13 girls table tennis competition held at THAU Indoor Stadium, N Chummita Chanu, Remisiya RK, L Lamnganbi and RK Chenglounganba were able to seal their place in the semi-finals.
