Imphal, October 25 2024: Chandel Christian YC and Chakpikarong YC registered first round victories to advance to the next stage of the DC Chandel Second Division Football Tournament organised by DSA Chandel at Ziontlang playground.

Chandel Christian earned the next stage berth today with a 3-2 win on penalties after a 1-1 regulation time draw with Chandonpokpi YC in the 9th match of the tournament.

Loningam (37') handed Chandel Christian YC a 1-0 first half lead but Th Chonglin equalised it for Chandonpokpi YC in the 79th minute.

In the shoot-out, Konitha, Laningam and Kophahring found the target for Chandel Christian YC as only Thonum and Kamson scored it for the losing team.

Later in the day, Chakpikarong YC thumped Soltang FC 5-1 courtesy of a double from NL Kaboy.

ST Khumhringjoy opened the scoring for Chakpikarong YC in the 21st minute before NL Kaboy (28', 54) and WS Pharhing (45') found the target and Soltang FC's HB Joyles conceded an own goal in the 60th minute.

Jamhring Wanglem scored the consolation goal for Soltang FC in the 53rd minute.
