13th Jadonang Memorial Football KMTYC, NFC, GYA enter quarter finals

Imphal, October 22 2022: Konthoujam Maning (KMTYC), Namdunlong (NFC) and Gaidimjang (GYA) reached quarter finals of the ongoing 13th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament with quarter final wins today at SAI Ground, Takyel.

The tournament began on October 8 with participation of 25 teams.

In the first pre-quarter final match of the tournament, KMTYC beat Rangkhung (RYC) 4-2 thanks to goals from Pouguigai Dangmei (37'), Chunsaba Bariam (60'), Panmei Gideon (77') and an own goal from RYC's Gaijianlung Panmei (34').Kinbuanpou Panmei (15') and Kuakloumei Panmei (56') were on target for the losing team.

In the second pre-quarter final match, Dimdailong (DYC) and Namdunlong (NFC) played out a 1-1 draw during regulation time before NFC sealed a 5-3 penalty win.

Giftson (65') equalised it for DYC as Kapoujan Kamei opened the scoring for NFC in the 14th minute.

In the shoot-out, Gonmei Langanpu, Giftson Kamei and M Chungmei managed to find the target as Gaipuilan Dangmei, Emmanuel Kamei, Dangmei Meisulung and Lankao Henry Kamei beat DYC custodian to make it 6-4 at the end.

In the third pre-quarter final match, Tingkaochun Gangmei (2') and Neilangam Pamei (21') scored to help Gaidimjang (GYA) knock out Longmai (LFC) by 2-0 goals.
