Assam Rifles organises sports meet, friendly football match

Imphal, July 08 2024: Assam Rifles has successfully organised a Sports Meet at Tengnoupal Government High School from July 5 to 7, 2024 .

According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(South), the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from six schools across various villages, with nearly 500 students competing in a range of athletic and team sports.

The sports meet featured events such as the 100-meter sprint, short marathon, football, and volleyball for both boys and girls.

The spirited competition among the students showcased their athletic abilities and fostered a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

The winners were awarded prizes generously by Assam Rifles.

The sports meet aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy competition among the youth of the region.

Moreover, Assam Rifles also organised a friendly football match with the youth in Churachandpur on July 8 with the aim to motivate the youth to pursue their ambitions and focus on positive causes amid the ongoing crisis in Manipur.

The match was held with the football enthusiasts of Singlun Football Academy, Rengkai village.

The event also aimed to foster better relationships between the security forces and the community, promoting peace and harmony in the region.

The football-passionate crowd gathered in large numbers to watch the match.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony for the winners, distribution of football kits, and a pledge to promote harmony and peace in the region.
