Polo: APC-A, LKL to meet in boys' final; LKL eves set up title clash with CPC

Imphal, January 30 2022:
Arvind Polo Club-A and Linthoinganbi Kangjei Lup reached the semifinals of the 5th Junior Boys U-16 State Level Polo Tournament in contrasting styles, while Linthoinganbi Kangjei Lup triumphed in the second semifinal match of the 17th Women State Level Polo Tournament on Sunday.
The first semifinal match of the boys' competition saw Arvind Polo Club-A edge past Thoubal Polo Club 5-4 at AMPA Iroisemba Kangjeibung.
Thoubal led the first chuk-ker 2-1 with a double from N Kirankumar as Arvind Club scored through Th Nongpoknganba.
In the next chukker, Arvind restored parity courtesy of A Kishan's strike.
The Arvind squad then briefly took the lead in the third period through Th Sanathoi before the two sides tied 3-3 after Th Pamheiba scored for Thoubal.
In the fourth chukker, the two teams collected a goal each with Kishan scoring his second goal for Arvind and Pamheiba claiming his second goal for Thoubal.
In the decider, Kishan completed his hat-trick to make sure of Arvind Polo Club-A's final berth.
Linthoinganbi Kangjei Lup, on the other hand, inflicted a crushing 10-1 defeat on Arvind Polo Club-B for their place in the boys' final.
A Bijoy and Denish Pebam struck a treble each as L Abinash and Kh Johnson contributed a double apiece to their side's an emphatic victory.
In the women's semifinal, Linthoinganbi Kangjei Lup romped past Samadon Ayangba Polo Club 8-2 to face Chingkheihunba Polo Club in the final.
Y Ranjita led the rout scoring four goals, Kh Habe picked up a double, and Kh Deventy and O Elizabeth added a goal each for the winning side.
