SWC ease into 18th DSA Trophy final with 5-1 crushing of YWU

Imphal, September 27 2024: SWC (Keirak) inflicted a 5-1 thrashing on YWU on their way to the final of the 18th DSA Trophy Invitation Football Tournament 2024.Th Yaiphaba scored a hat-trick in the first semifinal match held at DSA Kakching playground on Friday.

YWU seized the initiative with Th Tomba finding the back of the net in the 38th minute.

However, SWC mounted a strong comeback after halftime, unleashing a flurry of goals, spearheaded by Yaiphaba.

Yaiphaba equalised for his team with a goal in the 43rd minute.

M Niranjan set the pace for the second-half onslaught, scoring the second goal in the 75th minute.

A minute later, K Dingkal extended their lead to 3-1, with Yaiphaba then taking control, scoring his second goal in the 80th minute and completing his hat-trick five minutes later, ensuring SWC's smooth passage into the final.
