BWPC-A, UYPC set up AG polo title clash

Imphal, April 26 2024:
Black Watch Polo Club-A and UYPC will square off in the final of the 1st Athokpam Gandhar (German) Memorial State Level Open Polo Tournament 2024, following their semifinal triumphs at Ibudhou Marjing Polo Complex, Heingang on Friday.
Black Watch Polo Club-A booked their place in the final with a 9-4 drubbing of Rupkumar Polo Club.
The Black Watch riders jumped out to a commanding 4-1 lead in the opening period, with Th Jacob Singh and P Ojit scoring a double apiece as L Atangba added one.
RPC scored through L Thomson.
In the second period, Th Jacob struck in another double while RPC were off the scoreboard.
RPC found their second goal in the third period courtesy of Thomson, his second goal.
In the fourth period, both teams collected two goals as Atangba hammered home a pair of goal for Black Watch PC to complete a hat-trick and close out the game.
The opposition's two goal came courtesy of A Abung Khuman and Thomson.
UYPC, on the other hand, outscored IMKHUKAL-A 5-3 to reach the final.
S Bimol grabbed a double to take UYPC to 2-1 advantage in the first period as Th Kaoba scored for IMKHUKAL.
In the second period, UYPC scored two more goals through S Saolin and Alex Aheibam, while IMKHUKAL reduced the arears, scoring two goals with strikes from A Basanta and Th Santost.
UYPC added a goal in the third period through Th Nongpoknganba as they held on to their 5-3 lead to emerge the victors after a goalless fourth period.
The final match will take place on April 28, 2024 .
