Sub-Jr Basketball Nationals : Manipur bow out with 30-52 loss to Chhattisgarh

State lads ended their journey in the Sub Junior Boys National Basketball Championship being hosted by Telangana with a 30-52 loss to Chhattisgarh in a losers knock-out (semi-final) match this morning at SATG Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad.
Manipur trailed behind by 13-27 till halfway mark before they slumped to a 30-52 loss today despite a spirited fightback led by K Anderson in the fourth period.
K Anderson emerged top scorer for Manipur adding 12 points alone as Th Billgates (7) and Th Sotindrachan (5) gathered 12 points and the trio of Thomthilnganba, Th Gison and P Shriyans added 2 points apiece.
Ayushman Khanuja (20) and Utkizsth Singh (17), meanwhile led the scoring for Chhattisgarh sharing 37 points together.
Md Rehan (8), Md Zeeshan (3), K Sameer Reddy (2) and Alwin Sinde (2) also found their names on the scoresheet.
Notably, Manipur defeated Odisha 39-33 in a league round match (group F) before securing an impressive 75-51 win against Gujarat in a loosers knock-out (quarter-final) match yesterday.
