FLAM emerge 23rd Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament winners

FLAM, Yaiskul emerged champions of the 23rd edition of Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament with a 1-0 win over FLAK, Kyamgei today at SAI NERC ground, Takyel.
The lone goal that earned FLAM the coveted football title was scored by L James early in the 5th minute.
With the win, FLAM received a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 donated by Thanjam Arunkumar, MLA Wangkhei AC in memory of his beloved father (late) Th Birchandra and (late) Thangjam ongbi Meipakpi Devi of Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai.
FLAK in the meantime were feted with a cash prize of Rs 60,000 donated by Lourembam Rameshwor, MLA Keirao AC in memory of his beloved grandmother (late) Koijam ongbi Nungshi Devi.
Third placed team-TBSFA, Taobungkhok and fair play team FLVKT, Tera and special team Rainbow FC, Khamnam Leikai were also respectively feted with a cash prize of Rs 20,000; Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 each with trophies.
Meanwhile, M Sanjitkumar of Keishamthong FC (15 goals), Ng Naobi of FLAM, L James of FLAM and N Tomba of FLAM were also declared and feted with top scorer of the tournament, most valuable player of the tournament, best player of the tournament and best coach of the tournament awards carrying Rs 3,000 each with trophies.
O Ingobi of FLAM, K Priyokumar of FLAK, Kh Manaocha of FLAM and Lalit Thapa of FLAK in the meantime with declared best goalkeeper, best defender, best midfielder and best strike of the tournament respectively and feted with cash prize of Rs 3,000 each with trophies.
