Haveine Samuel wins gold, bronze medals at National Karate C'ship

In a momentous achievement that has inspired her family, community, and the entire Senapati district, Haveine Samuel delivered an exceptional performance at the recently concluded National Karate Championship held at Shiv Chattrapali Sports Complex, Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra.
Competing at the VIII JKNSK India National Karate Championships on November 17, she secured a gold medal in the KUMITE (fighting) category and a bronze medal in the KATA (demonstration of techniques) category.
Her outstanding performance not only brought honour to the district but also earned her a qualification for the prestigious South Asia Karate Championship 2024, scheduled for December 27-29 in Faridabad, Delhi.
This remarkable achievement underscores her dedication, perseverance, and hard work.
Haveine, the daughter of Samuel Hesho and Salome Samuel, hails from Maiba village in Senapati district but is currently based in Pune, Maharashtra, where she is pursuing a BBA IT degree at Symbiosis College.
The upcoming South Asia Karate Championship, organised by the Shito Ryu karate School of India (SKSI) and approved by the NKF Karate Do Federation of India (NKFI), will take place at the Radisson Blu in Faridabad, Delhi NCR.
Open exclusively to SKSI members with comprehensive knowledge of karate rules, the tournament aims to promote all-round development and promotion in the sport.
The Naga Students' Union, Pune, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Haveine for her exceptional accomplishments, noting that her success is a source of pride for her family and the broader Naga community.
They further commended her as a role model and inspiration for young athletes.
