MNCA Elite Tourney : RK Rex takes hattrick as PTRC post 8-wicket win over CRAU

Imphal, February 19 2023: RK Rex took a hattrick enroute to his 6-wicket haul as PTRC-Patsoi crushed CRAU-Khamnam Bazar by 8 wickets for second victory in the 11th match of the ongoing 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

With Rex leading the pace attack, CRAU who won the toss and opted to bat first, were bowled out for a paltry total of 55 runs in 16.1 overs and PTRC took just 10.4 overs to complete the chase with 8 wickets left to spare.

CRAU had a devastating start today with RK Rex bowling out Dennis Khangembam in the opening ball itself.

CRAU then slumped to 14/5 in the fifth over as Rex removed Johny Kh for 5 in the first delivery to complete his double and trapped Govind Ayekpam, Ronil Potsangbam and Khangenbam Bimol lbw on ducks in the last three deliveries for a rare hattrick.

Before CRAU took their chance to add a run, RK Rex also trapped Lamabam Ajay to complete his six-wicket haul in the second delivery of the 7th over to make it 14/6 .

PTRC's Bishorjit Konthoujam then removed Lamabam Jotin (19) and Ayekpam Uttam (0) and Deepak undone Heisnam Yohenba (0) to cut the innings short and reduced CRAU to 55 all out within 16.1 overs.

Chasing 56 for the win PTRC lost RK Rex (8) and Gemson (2) to Lamabam Ajay as the scoreboard read 32 in 6.3 overs but Ngariyanbam Johnson (25 not out) and Jotin Singh Pheiroijam (19 not out) finished off the chase in 10.4 overs.

RK Rex (6/15 in 6 overs) who emerged wrecker-in-chief for PTRC earned the man of the match accolade.

REYS will play SCCC in the next match tomorrow.
