MSL: League Round ends, defending champion NISA to fight relegation

Imphal, October 16 2014: Defending champion and five times champion titles holder of prestigious Manipur State Football League, NISA will fight FC Khanglai to save relegation, on the other hand, NACO will clash with KLASA to book a 10th Manipur State League berth on October 22, 2014 .

In the first match of the 9th State League today, double strikes from Md Asif in the second half time made USA Khurai to hammer KLASA Keinou by 5-1 goals.

USA Khurai opened the scoring through Y Sobha in the 13th minute but solitary goal of the KLASA scored by Samananda in the 31st minute kept the score-sheet 1-1 at the first half time.

It was just four minutes of the second half, L Fernando smashed their second goal.

In the 72nd minute of the match, Md Asif scored his first goal and scoring spree was carried on by Ranjan Kabui in the 84th minute.

Just one minute later, Md Asif completed is second goal to give USA a big win over KLASA.

In the second match, ZFC defeated TRUGPU by 3-1 goals.

Cleaven Hmar's score in the dying minute of the first half kept ZFC lead over TRUGPU by 1-nil at the break time.

Paokhongam doubled the scoring for ZFC in the 76th minute.

In the next minute TRUGPU pulled one goal back through Ch Anand Kumar.

K Lalrintunga gave assurance goal to ZFC in the 78th minute to defeat TUGPU by 3-1 goals.

In another match, TRAU Kwakeithel blanked NEROCA Sangakpham by 2-0 goals.

After a goalless first half, S Ratan break the deadlock in the 50th minute.

The second the winning goal was scored by Th Premkumar in the 83rd minute of the match.

In the last match of the league, NISA held MPSC to 1-1 draw.

Both the teams could not score even a goal during the first half time.

O Rishikanta of NISA opened the score account from a rebound ball volleyed by teammate N Jimmy in the 72nd minute.

In the last minute of the allotted time, A Ningthouba leveled the score to end the match 1-1 draw.

K Ajit of NISA, Henry Chawang and W Nilakanta of MPSC were shown yellow cards for their unsporting behavior during the match.

The knock out stage of the 9th State League organized by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the sponsorship of MLA Khumukcham Joykisan will begin from October 18, 2014 .

On the first day, SSU will face TRUGP at 12.15 pm and ZFC will take on TRAU at 1.15 pm.

On the second day, October 19, 2014, NEROCA will clash with MPSC at 12.15 pm while AIM will fight USA at 2.15 pm.
