Chandel Super Division League kicks off

Imphal, October 15 2024: UCFC, LYCC, Chamdil Khullen and Kapaam DC all earned a point as the Chandel Super Division Football League 2024 kicked off on Tuesday at Ziontlang Village Ground, Chandel.

Chamdil Khullen and Kapaam DC played out a 1-1 draw.

After a barren first-half, Rineishangam broke the deadlock in the 54th minute to put Kapaam DC in front.

However, Chamdil Khullen quickly responded a minute later with Beni-war finding the net.

Despite both teams intensifying their efforts thereafter, neither managed to gain the upper hand, leading to a shared point for each side.

Earlier in the league opener, UCFC and LYCC ended their encounter in a goalless stalemate.

On Wednesday (October 16), Hnahringkhu YC will be up against Chumbang FC.

Prior to the day's matches, an opening ceremony took place.

During the event, DSA Chandel felicitated Db Kowar Lamkang for his recent elevation from the post of vice-president to acting president of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA).

Kowar himself was the special guest of the event.

Rev Dr Hranuam Khiang blessed the opening ceremony and led a felicitation prayer for Db Kowar Lamkang.

In his welcome address, Ts Chamna Anal, president DSA Chandel, expressed his happiness at Db Kowar Lamkang s appointment as the first president of AMFA from Chandel District and the first from hill districts of Manipur.

He credited God and the AMFA executive board for this significant opportunity to Chandel district.

The DSA Chandel president also commended all clubs in the district for their continuous support to DSA, Chandel.

Additionally, he praised Kowar's wife for unwavering support to her husband and for helping DSA Chandel and its affiliated clubs financially, physically and morally whenever needed.
