Chiru hold MPSC to 2-2 draw in Jiri Cup

Imphal, February 14 2020: A late goal from Choneikhum helped Chiru team share points with MPSC at the Friday quarter final league match of the 23 th Jiri Cup Invitation Football Tournament 2019-20.The match ended 2-2, shocking the MPSC which clearly had the upper hand in the early minutes of the match.

MPSC took the lead 13 minutes into the game with Kanta finding the back of the net while keeping the Chiru strikers at bay.

However, Chiru's Parthanglien salvaged a goal in the 23rd minute handing his team the much needed equalizer.

MPSC soon regained their strength in the second half and retained the lead through Wishubou's fine goal in the 57th minute.

Leading 2-1, MPSC then focused more on maintaining the defence line while looking for chances to add more on counter attacks.

But, their lead was cancelled out late in the 80th minute as Chiru's Choneikhum scored.

Despite attempts from both teams to find the winner, the game ended 2-2 .

Meanwhile, on Thursday PYA (Keirang, Imphal East) had an emphatic win of 5-0 over FC Lamjao with Ejaj scoring a treble (17th, 57th and 87th).Robinson and Maqbul also scored one each in the 27th and 63rd minute respectively to help PYA earn the huge win.
