Boney's all-round heroics help NAPSA upstage AKSDO to clinch MNCA Plate Tournament title

NAPSA became the champions of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament after comfortably beating AKSDO in the summit clash on Sunday at Oriental College.
Heisnam Boney churned out an all-round performance to hand the Kha Imphal a dominant 95-run win over their title opponents.
Boney was clearly the star performer in the final match.
He scored 84 off 114 balls and then scalped three wickets at economy of 3.8 with the ball, conceding 23 runs from his six overs.
Building on Boney's 84, NAPSA posted 184/9 after they chose to bat first.
Monjit Loushambam did his part with 34 while Laishram Electronic contributed 12.Other run-getters in NAPSA's innings included Nepram Richer Singh (4 not out), Premananda Ahongshangbam (3), Bijaykaran Yumnam (1) and Albert Sorokhaibam (1) .
NAPSA then needed 27-4 overs to bundle out AKSDO for 89 as Albert Sorokhaibam turned out to be the chief destroyer.
Albert's fiery 6.4 overs spell earned him five wickets, coupled with Heisnam Boney's three and Nepram Richer's one.
For AKSDO, Akash Laishram top-scored with 21, followed by Bishorjit Mangang (17), Laishram Samson (16) and Chinglensana Moirangthem (10).Earlier, Laishram Nirash shone with the ball for the Khangabok side by claiming five wickets while Sanayai Ningthoujam took three and Laishram Ranjit bagged one.
Courtesy of their title triumph, NAPSA pocketed Rs 1,00,000 in prize money while AKSDO received Rs 70,000 .
RRCC's Haojalen Kipgen was adjudged the man of the series for his 321 runs & 18 wickets in seven innings.
He also took home the trophy for highest run-scorer.
NCA's Chourjeet RK won the highest wicket-taker title (34 wickets in 8 innings) while NAPSA's Hesinam Boney was named the man of the final match for his 84 runs and three wickets.
